When and where can I start?
Start dates and locations are listed in each job posting - Click on the job Title under Current Opportunities on the right to apply. The application process takes approximately five business days to complete. Our recruiter will review your application and reach out directly to you within two business days by email if you meet the minimum requirements. We will then send you a series of assessments to complete from the comfort of your own home. If you are invited, we conduct a video interview using the similar technology you will be using at Sykes Assistance Services as an employee. We do require a completed criminal background check, a virtual home office inspection (if applicable) and previous employment verification before extending an employment offer. The offer is made and accepted online.
Where will I have to go to sign off on my employment offer and any other necessary forms?
Nowhere! We use a secured program that allows us to issue your contract and other corresponding documents electronically. You will have the opportunity to complete, review, save as a PDF and submit everything electronically.
Is there any Work from Home requirements I am responsible for?
Yes, you are required to supply:
→High-speed internet – Within proximity to your workspace, the internet will need to be hard-wired to the computer we will provide. Your internet speed will be tested to ensure a minimum of 2mbps upload and 5mbps download to support the work you will be doing. Your local internet service provider may be able to enhance your service if the initial test falls below requirements.→Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) – You should have an analog landline with no features (i.e. call waiting, call forwarding, voicemail).→Private, quiet office space – Your office space should have a door, so you can close yourself off from any distractions you may encounter in your home.→A desk and chair that is ergonomically suited for work.

Will I be reimbursed for my internet and telephone costs if I Work from Home?
You are responsible for internet and telephone costs. We encourage you to seek professional tax advice on how to take advantage of the off-sets you can claim for all your Work from Home expenses.
Will I be able to use my current laptop for the position?
We supply a secured locked computer at no cost to you.
Will someone help me set up my equipment?
Detailed instructions on how to set up your equipment are included in the equipment shipment sent to you.
Where will I complete my training?
Work from Home: You will complete your training from the comfort of your home office! You will be in a virtual classroom with your new team members. Training will be facilitated by a designated trainer who will support your learning in a blended, fast-paced online environment. Throughout this training, you will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for your success in the role.
In Centre (London, ON): You will complete your training onsite in our fully equipped training facility. You will be in a classroom with your new team members. Training will be facilitated by a designated educator who will support your learning. Throughout this training, you will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for your success in the role.
You will be evaluated in class. Informal observations of attendance, participation, completion of assigned modules and progression of knowledge/skills from day to day and week to week are noted. Formal evaluations (testing scenarios) occur weekly, to ensure you are meeting the benchmarks and demonstrating the required skillset necessary to move ahead in the program, to exit training and to move into production taking live calls.
What kind of calls can I expect to be taking?
Nurse: As a teletriage nurse, you will be joining a unique and fast-paced environment. Our nurses answer several types of calls every day. Examples include pediatric, with a parent calling for a sick child, “seasonal” calls such as, cough/colds in the winter and insect bites, sunburn, heat stroke, etc. in the summer months, or calls related to any symptom or health situation you can think of ranging from headaches, abdominal pain, chest pain, injuries, mental health issues, or someone looking for health information or a referral to community services.
Dietitian: As a Registered Dietitian, you will be joining a dynamic team in providing evidence-based nutrition information to callers of all ages! Our dietitians answer a wide variety of calls every day ranging from infant and child nutrition to chronic disease self-management and digestive disorders to questions on food safety and food labelling. They also cover topics on the nutrient content of food, nutrient and medication interactions and healthy eating on a budget and so much more. We can also refer a caller to a community program and/or service. Our team of dietitians help support healthy living by empowering their callers to embrace food, to understand it, and to enjoy it!!
Support Associate: As a Support Associate, you will be joining a team actively involved in one of the most diverse and dynamic experiences that can be had in the call centre environment. Whether you are prioritizing how quickly a caller gets to a nurse, finding healthcare services for a caller in their home, scheduling appointments for a caller to speak to a lawyer, processing a donation, or recording the reason that someone is absent for work, there is a wide range of calls to handle.Customer Assistance (Roadside): When a member’s vehicle has a mechanical breakdown, members may call Roadside Assistance for help. Our Roadside Customer Assistance Representatives facilitate the call for help between our callers and the towing facilities who come to their aid. Some examples of the call types you may receive include arranging for a battery boost, changing a flat tire, towing a vehicle that has a breakdown while travelling or involved in an accident.
What kind of support will I have should I run into any issues or require assistance?
You will always have team support readily available through secured chat, telephone, or email.

Absolutely! Our referral program is available to ALL employees from day one of training. You can submit your referrals through your Career Centre portal.
How does Sykes Assistance Services support Work from Home employees?
We supply the computer and headset; all you need to supply is a high-speed internet connection, a feature-free phone line (analog), and a private office space. We provide paid training from the comfort of your home using the latest instructional technology.
